Your Instructor
Nicole Lapratte is the Founder and Owner of Chien ZEN Dog. She has been working in collaboration with Pet Intel and Emotional Well-Being for the past 15 years. She offers bilingual Professional Canine Services to her clients; Online and Hybrid Programs, Service Dog Training, In-Person Services, as well as many comprehensive Packaged Programs. She serves the Ottawa and Ottawa West (Kanata, Stittsville, Carleton Place), Pakenham, Arnprior, Renfrew, areas in Ontario / Gatineau (Aylmer, Hull) areas in Québec, Canada.
In addition to being a Certified Behavior Consultant Canine - Knowledge Assessed (CBCC-KA), Nicole is a member of the Canadian Association of Professional Dog Trainers (CAPDT), the Association of Pet Dog trainers (APDT), the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC), as well as the Canadian Association of Service Dog Trainers (CASDT). Nicole also detains a Certificate of Completion for “The Aggression in Dogs Master Course” (Michael Shikashio - Founder) and is currently enrolled in Kim Brophey's "L.E.G.S.® Applied Ethology Family Dog Mediation® Professional Course". Continued Education is ever present on Nicole’s horizon as she continues her never-ending quest for animal-related knowledge acquisition.
She prides herself in using dog-friendly and fear-free methods and techniques, teaming with respect and compassion, for both the dog and their guardian(s). Nicole is dedicated to listening to the dog’s "whispers" (silent and subtle body language - the detailed and necessary clues of communication) in order to move onward and upward towards a common goal with the dog and guardian. With the dog's consent always, she then procedes on the journey to emotional wellness.
Nicole’s philosophy and methodology are based on scientific principles and a true belief in respecting the dog’s physical, emotional and psychological well-being, hence her motto of “Listening to the Whispers / Portons attention aux chuchotements”.
